Vicki Dameron has been a professional photographer, photojournalist and news producer for more than 20 years. She specializes in wedding, event and landscape photography as well as video and audio production. She is an instructor in the Broadcast Production curriculum at Cleveland Community College in Shelby, N.C. and has been the publicist for the Rutherford County Relay For Life, an American Cancer Society Event, for the past ten years.
Vicki is a native of West Palm Beach, Florida. She moved to Rutherford County, N.C. in 1989 and has been capturing its beauty, through the lens, since the day she arrived in the Old North State.
Her work has appeared in dozens of newspapers, magazines, brochures, annual reports, management plans and web sites. Her images are featured on billboards, in two National Park Service brochures and an NPS national report book. Murals of her photos of western North Carolina are displayed at the Asheville Regional Airport, the Spa at Rumbling Bald Resort in Lake Lure, NC and the Transylvania County Heritage Museum in Brevard, NC.
Vicki was also part of the creative team that developed an Interactive Wall which is on display at the new Visitor Center located at the headquarters of the Blue Ridge Parkway in Asheville. More than 100 of her images are featured on the “I-Wall.”
She volunteers for the American Cancer Society, the National Park Service, the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area and Kidsenses Museum in Rutherfordton, NC.
Vicki is married to Penn Dameron, a musician and former Superior Court Judge. Penn is the Executive Director of Grandfather Mountain in Linville, NC. Their children live in Los Angeles, Chicago, Greensboro, NC and Union Mills, NC.
